Welcome to JAM – the Jamboree for Arts & Music!
JAM is a mission-based, socially-networked, arts and music game that builds a passion for creativity in young people. JAM involves kids in art challenges that take place in the real world, from outside their front door to museums and community-based arts organizations, connecting them to artists, educators and each other.
The JAM pilot program ran in 10 San Francisco and New York high schools from March 21 - April 30, 2011. In those 6 weeks, over 200 participating students posted nearly 1400 unique artworks to JAM and visited a multitude of art institutions like SFMOMA, PS1, de Young Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a huge success that both teachers and students are raving about.
The top JAM participants from New York are now invited to JAM LAB, an amazing hands-on arts workshop in New York on May 7, 2011. At JAM LAB students will be mentored by artists, DJs, fashion photographers and more to produce their own fashion shoot in New York's Brick Space. A JAM LAB event for San Francisco is in the works as well.

JAM was created by Nuvana – in partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District and the New York Department of Education, made possible by a grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission and generous donations from artists and patrons in New York and San Francisco.
